History of SweetPetals – A Brooklyn Legacy in Bloom
Every flower tells a story, and so does every flower shop. Ours begins in 1960, at 832 Washington Avenue in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn.
1960: Prospect Heights Florist
The shop first opened as Prospect Heights Florist, a neighborhood flower shop a short walk from the Brooklyn Museum and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. For decades it was known for fresh daily blooms, handwritten cards and the kind of personal service that keeps neighbors coming back for birthdays, weddings and life's hardest goodbyes.
Today: Flowers by SweetPetals
About a year ago, the shop became Flowers by SweetPetals. We kept the same address and the same neighborhood roots, and brought the shop into the modern era with:

- Same-day delivery across Brooklyn and NYC when you order by 6 PM
- Fresh, contemporary designs, from rose bouquets to orchids and lisianthus
- Wedding flowers and event flower and balloon decor
- Get-well delivery to Brooklyn and NYC hospitals
What Hasn't Changed
Every arrangement is still designed by hand in our shop on Washington Avenue. We still deliver sympathy flowers to local churches and funeral homes with care, and we still believe a neighborhood flower shop should feel like part of the neighborhood.
